I'm a recycler.
So when I walk around my neighborhood I pick up trash so it doesn't get washed down the drains and into the ocean not far from my house.
I'm also an alchemist.
I try and use whatever life brings me to make me a better person today than I was yesterday and a better person tomorrow than I am today.
I also believe in the power of positive potential - things are only bad if we don't learn from them and only good if we grow from them.
You need compost – recycling - to grow exquisite roses, juicy oranges or tall shady trees.
The more compost you have the more roses, oranges and trees you can grow!
I was out walking this morning when I found pieces of a broken water bottle.
I picked them up and kept the pieces in my hand for recycling.
Although I live in a city of over a million people, near to my house there are parks with sheep, cows and horses.
After I jumped over the park fence with the bottle top in my hand I must’ve landed in a cow pat.
I walked along enjoying the fresh winters air before realizing that my finger was in something squishy.
I stopped to look at my hand and saw it had some cow pat on it.
Because I grew up on a farm that didn’t worry me too much, but because I had stopped walking and looked down I happened to see some golf balls on the ground that would’ve been a danger to the animals.
As I walked over to the stream to wash my hands, I got to thinking that this little incident would make a great little story for a post about how recycling and compost can lead to positive outcomes!
